Greek-4-U [4]

In what I’m assuming is a series of delicious coincidences, we had soup for the fourth week in a row yesterday. The rainy days might play a part too. The go to starter at Greek-4-U is their Lemon Chicken Soup. It is a tasty blend of veggies and chicken in a cloudy broth of strong lemon flavor. A liquid feast I’ve eaten three to four helpings of in the past.
A soup overdose was not our plan though. Ethan ordered the Pasticcio, a dish I grew up eating and that G4U comes in at a close second to my mother’s. Not a slight, but a well meant complement. I ordered the Gyro, a dish that I thought G4U did very well until I ate at 5 Star once a week for the past two months. Their’s was good, but a bit on the dry side.
The atmosphere very much reminds me of Mediterranean Bakery, a useful description I’m sure. It is clearly a family owned business, part bakery, restaurant and niche grocery store. As soon as we weren’t the only customers dining in it felt homey and inviting. The service was great, but lacked a clear etiquette. Do we wait at the counter or sit down? Do we pay before or after? Not an issue that would deter us from returning, but definitely an area that could be improved.
