Plaza Guadalajara [10] (closed)

Richmond’s Mexican cuisine often feels like wash. No one does it poorly, but no one does it great either. Where most places feel like they were cloned from the same mediocre DNA, Plaza Guadalajara stands out. Mind you it can not hold a candle to the places I have eaten at in Texas. It stands out in Richmond though.
They meet or exceed the standard in most categories. As expected the food arrives with unnatural speed. How did you just make my enchiladas in under three minutes. Never mind I don’t want to know. The service is friendly and prompt. Our five gallon buckets of preferred beverages were never empty and that was not for lack of trying.
So far this sounds like every other Mexican place in Richmond, but where Plaza Guadalajara shines is their food. It taste a step above the rest. Fresher ingredients maybe? I have no clue, but they know how to do it better than the clones.

let me know when you guys head out again, i can probably meet you some where when i do my sam’s run for work.
